The petitioner is aggrieved by the unilateral enhancement in the levy of property tax. 2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner had been paying property tax of Rs.32,114/- till the year 2020-2021. Thereafter, the tax was enhanced to Rs.35,325/-, which was paid up to the year 2021-2022. It is further submitted that the 2nd respondent has levied property tax at Rs.82,795/- for the year 2022-2023 and at Rs.93,340/- for the current year. The learned counsel further submits that the said enhancement was made without following the due procedure prescribed under the Act. In this regard, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 13.03.2025, which is yet to be responded by the 2nd respondent. 3. In reply, the learned standing counsel for the 2nd respondent submits that the representation of the petitioner will be considered in accordance with law and that appropriate orders would be passed after affording due opportunity to the petitioner. 4. Considering the submissions made, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the 2nd respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 13.03.2025 and pass appropriate orders after duly affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner. -3- W.P.
