Counsel for the Petitioner: I.PEDDi VIJAYBHASKAR Counsel for the Respondent{S): 1 .GP FOR SOCIAL WELFARE 2.GP FOR FINANCE PLANNING SRK, J WP No.20501 of 2024 3 The Court made the following ORDER: This Writ Petition has been filed seeking to declare the action of respondents in not releasing the financial assistance of Rs. 10,00,000/- (Rupees ten lakhs only) to the petitioner who pursued his M.Sc Cyber Security with Sandwich Placement at University of Hertfordshire, UK, selected under the scheme of “VIDESHI VIDYA DEEVANA” under Application ID NO.OV2019122102 as illegal, arbitrary, violation of principles of natural justice and unconstitutional and consequently, direct the respondents to release aforesaid amount forthwith. 2. The petitioner got selected under the scheme of “Videshi Vidya Deevana” Overseas scholarship under the caste EBC (Others) with Application ID No.OV2019122102, dated 16.06.2019 for studying M.Sc Cyber Security with Sandwich Placement at University of Hertfordshire, UK and completed his studies in the year 2021. The onsite vigilance enquiry was also completed in 2021 and relevant documents were also submitted. Despite passage of more than two years, no amount has been released to the petitioner. Hence, he filed the present Writ Petition. Today, when the matter came up for hearing, learned Government Pleader for Social Welfare, on the letter addressed 3. SRK, J WP No.20501 of 2024 4 by the Managing Director of A.P.State Economically Backward Classes Welfare and Development Corporation, Vijayawada, submits that the petitioner is eligible as per the report submitted by the Vigilance and Enforcement Department and requested for three months’ time for completion of the process for making payment i.e., receipt of the budget from the Government for sanction of amount to the petitioner. In view of the aforesaid facts and circumstances and as there is no dispute with regard to the fact that petitioner is eligible *4 for sanctioned amount, the respondents are directed to release the said amount of Rs.10,00,000/- (Rupees ten lakhs only) to the petitioner, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is allowed. There shall be no order as to costs. 4. 5.
