He submits that vacancies are available, therefore, delay on the part of the Authorities to held promotion exercise is unjustified. 5. Mr. J.S. Bisht, learned State Counsel submits that petitioner had made a representation regarding his promotion, therefore, the Competent Authority may be asked to look into the matter. 6. We, accordingly, dispose of the writ petition with a direction to Secretary, Drinking Water Department to examine petitioner’s request for holding of Departmental Promotion Committee, as per Rules, and pass appropriate order on petitioner’s representation, within eight weeks from the date of production of certified copy of this order.
