1. Prayer in this petition, filed under Section 482 of the BNSS, 2023 (earlier Section 438 Cr.P.C.), is for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner, who has been booked in a criminal case arising out of First Information Report, as detailed hereunder:- Name

Status report by way of affidavit dated 27.08.2025 of Mr. Vijay Kanwar Paul, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police (PBI & Narcotic) cum Sub-division Kartarpur, Jalandhar (Rural) on behalf of respondent has been filed and the same is taken on record. Copy supplied to the other side. Registry to tag the same at appropriate place.

CRM-M-26211-2025 2 482 of BNSS, 2023 for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in case FIR No.50 dated 24.03.2025 under Sections 115(2), 126(2), 118(1), 118(2), 193(3), 190 of the BNS, 2023, registered at Police Station Kartarpur, District Jalandhar.
Learned counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that the petitioner has no previous criminal antecedents; although he is named in the FIR in question, however, he has been attributed only simple injury on the left arm and shoulder of the injured-complainant. On a pointed query as to which of the accused has been attributed grievous injury, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that it has been attributed to co-accused Uday Pal. Notice of motion. On the asking of the Court, Mr. Shiva Khurmi, AAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State and seeks time to file reply. Meanwhile, the petitioner is directed to join the investigation and appear before the investigating agency, as and when called upon to do so. In the event of his arrest, he shall be admitted to interim bail on his furnishing bail bonds to the satisfaction of the Arresting/Investigating Officer. The petitioner shall abide by the terms and conditions as envisaged under Section 438(2) Cr.P.C./482(2) of BNSS, 2023. Adjourned to 27.08.2025.
4. Continuing his submissions, learned counsel for the petitioner contends that in compliance of the order dated 14.05.2025, passed by this Court, petitioner has joined the investigation, and has fully co-operated. Therefore, he prays for confirmation of the said interim anticipatory bail
order.
5. Learned State counsel on instructions from quarter concerned, confirms the said averment made by counsel for the petitioner of joining the investigation on 20.05.2025 by the petitioner, and submits that as of now, custodial interrogation of the petitioner is not required for the purpose of investigation.
6. Heard learned counsel for the parties.
7. Since, petitioner has already joined the investigation and custodial interrogation is no more required; ad-interim bail order dated 14.05.2025, passed by this Court is hereby made absolute. Accordingly, RAJEEV PUROHIT 2025.08.28 18:07 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
