1. The instant petition is for the following reliefs:-
“a) Issue a writ of mandamus or any other writ, order or direction thereby directing the respondents to provide fulltime police protection in the form of Delhi Police personnel to the petitioners on account of constant threats for life, being given by the gangsters. b) pass such other or further order as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case in favour of the petitioners, in the interest of justice.”
2. Having heard learned counsel for the parties, the Court finds that, as of now, the grievance of the petitioners stands mitigated in view of the stand taken by the respondents in their status report. 3. Paragraph nos. 13 to 16 of the status report are extracted as under:-
“13. It is further submitted that, as on date, pending adjudication of the present writ petition and in order to ensure adequate security in view of This is a digitally signed order. the prevailing threat perception, police protection has presently been provided to all the petitioners as an interim security measure, subject to periodic review by the competent authority. 14. Thereafter, the matter was referred to the Special Cell, Delhi Police for a fresh Threat Assessment. The last Threat Assessment Report has assessed the threat perception qua the petitioners as genuine. 15. Based upon the said Threat Assessment Report, the competent authority has recommended that police protection be provided to the concerned petitioners during daytime only. Appropriate deployment has been made in accordance with the said recommendation. 16.
It is respectfully submitted that the respondents shall continue to periodically review the security arrangements on the basis of intelligence inputs and threat perception and shall faithfully comply with any further directions passed by this Hon’ble Court.”
4. Since, the grievance of the petitioners stands mitigated, therefore, nothing more remains to be adjudicated in the instant petition. Accordingly, the same stands disposed of along with all pending applications. 5. Needless to state that if the petitioners have any apprehension, they shall be at liberty to file an appropriate application before the concerned authority.
