Petitioner has instituted this writ petition against an order dated 10.01.2024 wherein the Disciplinary Authority imposed penalty of withholding of pension upon the petitioner-a pensioner to the extent of 25% for a period of 2 years. The aforesaid office order was communicated to the District Treasury Officer, District Mandi on 14.11.2024 (Annexure P-7)
2. It is seen from the record that the petitioner has preferred an appeal against the aforesaid penalty order before the Appellate Authority at Annexure P-8.
3. The petitioner has filed a supplementary affidavit placing on record a postal receipt dated 27.06.2024. It has been averred in the supplementary affidavit that copy of the appeal was dispatched under 1 Whether reporters of the local papers may be allowed to see the judgment?
2 the aforesaid postal receipt on 27.06.2024 but till date decision thereupon has not been communicated to the petitioner.

Since the petitioner has already taken recourse to the remedy available to him in-law by instituting the appeal against the punishment imposed against him, therefore, this writ petition is disposed of by directing respondent No.1/competent authority to consider and decide the appeal of the petitioner in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks. The order so passed be also communicated to the petitioner. The writ petition stands disposed of in the above terms, so also the pending miscellaneous application(s), if any.
