Heard learned counsel for the petitioners, learned Government Pleader and learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents. 3. The case of the petitioners is that the petitioners herein are eligible and entitle to receive the old age social security pension pursuant to the terms of G.O.IVIs.No.174, dated 13.12.2019 since the petitioners were declared as senior citizens and crossed 65 years of age. Even though the petitioners have been submitting representations and making oral requests to the respondent authorities for grant of old age pension, but for one reason or the other, the respondents neither considered the same and granted pension nor replied, since August, 2024 to till date. Hence, the writ petition. On the other hand, learned Standing Counsel for respondent No.5 and learned Government Pleader for the other respondents submitted that pursuant to 4. the instructions received by them, the claim of the petitioners are under consideration and accordingly they would consider their cases in terms of G.O.Ms.No.174, dated 13.12.2019, if they were otherwise eligible, they will be granted old age social security pension under the pension scheme to the petitioners from the next month onwards. Considering the submissions made by both the learned counsel and perusal of the material placed on record, it appears that as contended by the learned Counsel for the petitioner that the petitioners herein are eligible and entitled to receive old age social security pension in terms of G.O.Ms.No.174, dated 13.12.2019, since the petitioners herein have crossed 65 years of age and they are eligible in all respects to receive the pension is valid and sustainable, since the eligibility of petitioners is not in question on any ground. In view of the contention of the learned Standing Counsel for respondent No.5 that the petitioners are eligible since they crossed 65 years to receive pension in terms of G.O.Ms.No.174, dated 13.12.2019 is valid. Accordingly, their cases would be considered from next month onwards for granting old aged social security pension, as claimed by the petitioner, is also valid and reasonable due to the facts and circumstances of the case. In view of the clear and categorical admission made by the learned Standing Counsel, respondent Nos. 3 to 5 are hereby directed to consider the cases of the petitioners in terms of G.O.Ms.No.174, dated 13.12.2019 and sanction social security pension to the petitioners as early as possible. \ 5. on 6. 5 7.
