The present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner praying for following relief:- "I. Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the competent authority among the respondents to change the name of petitioner as Hari Narayan Singh in the Service Record." It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner is working on the post of Workshop Instructor and the name of the petitioner in the service record is Pappu Singh. However, the petitioner on the strength of the Circular dated 12th March, 1987 of the Government of India is claiming change of the name of the petitioner as Hari Narayan Singh. The aforesaid circular is filed along with rejoinder affidavit. The aforesaid change has also been published in the newspaper as well as in the Gazette of India. The process for the change of name of a government servant has been duly followed by the petitioner and the same has to be considered by the respondent no.2. In this respect, the petitioner has made a representation dated 18.11.2022 before respondent no.2, which is pending consideration. Learned Standing Counsel that the claim of the petitioner will be considered and decided by respondent no.2 in accordance with law in a time bound manner. In view of the aforesaid, this writ petition is disposed of directing the respondent no.2 to consider and decide the petitioner's representation dated 18.11.2022 in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of two months from the date of production of a certified copy of this order.
