ORAL ORDER
Petitioner is seeking to quash the online cyber compliant dated 21.10.2025 bearing acknowledgment No.31610250141095, filed by respondent No.2. 2. It is stated that petitioner and respondent No.2 became acquainted through a website, namely okcupid.com, and developed a friendly relationship. During the said period, the petitioner who was suffering from medical condition related to the uterus, sought financial help from respondent No.2, who extended monetary assistance of Rs.1,92,000/-. Subsequently, due to certain personal misunderstandings, the relationship turned strained and respondent No.2 requested repayment of the amount. Owing to financial constrains, the petitioner could not immediately repay the same, however respondent No.2 filed an online cyber complainant through the Government portal and helpline No.1930, pursuant to which the bank accounts of the petitioner were frozen by

respondent No.1-the South CEN Crime Police Station, Bangalore City. 3. In the petition, it is stated that, petitioner has contacted respondent No.2 and immediately repaid Rs.1,92,000/- and parties have amicably resolved all the disputes between them. 4. The petitioner is present through video conference. Respondent No.2 is present personally. He has acknowledged the fact that Rs.1,92,000/- has been received by him from the petitioner and they have resolved all the dispute, since he has received full payment. 5. A joint memo is filed by the parties, signed by the petitioner, respondent No.2 and the respective counsels appearing for them. 6. Joint memo is placed on record. 7. It is also stated that respondent No.2 is a senior citizen aged about 70 years, who has recently suffered a

stroke and is unable to travel or pursue further proceedings and the petitioner is currently residing in North India and undergoing medical treatment. 8. The parties are seeking for closer of the matter, in view of the settlement and repayment of the entire amount. Admittedly, no FIR is registered in this case. The online cyber complaint has been filed through Government portal with the helpline No.1930 pursuant to which bank accounts and the transaction namely the second, third layer accounts of the petitioner were placed under lien and frozen. 9. The dispute has been amicably settled between the parties, respondent No.2 has submitted, he is not interested in pursing the complaint.
Therefore, this Court is of the considered view that, in order to meet the ends of justice, it is just and necessary to allow the petition. Accordingly, the following:

ORDER The petition is allowed. The online cyber complaint dated 21.10.2025 bearing acknowledgment No.31610250141095 filed by respondent No.2 against the petitioner is hereby quashed. The respondent No.1-Police is directed to defreeze all the bank accounts of the petitioner and remove the lien marked on her bank account pursuant to the online cyber complainant registered against her.
