HIGH COURT OF JAMMU & KASHMIR AND LADAKH AT JAMMU CCP(S) No. 643/2019 in SWP No. 878/2017 Romesh Singh …..Appellant(s)/Petitioner(s) Through: None.. q vs Pandhu Rang K. Pole Secy, Food Civil Supplies & Consumerr Affairs Deptt & Anr. .…. Respondent(s) Through: Mr. Sumeet Bhatia, GA. Coram: HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE WASIM SADIQ NARGAL, JUDGE ORDER 25.03.2025 01. From the bare perusal of the stand taken by respondents, it is apparently clear that inquiry officer has submitted its report on 17.08.2024, whereunder it has been reported that sufficient opportunity of being heard was given to the petitioner and others and they were asked to submit/furnish the relevant documents pertaining to the matter in question in support of their defence. As per the report of the Inquiry Officer, it is apparently clear that petitioner has served as In-Charge Storekeeper, Food Store Chatha during the period w.e.f 01.04.2013 to 18.03.2014 and shortages to the tune of Rs.36,98,303/- were found against him for the aforesaid period and recommended the same to be effected from petitioner. 02. The respondents while filing the status report have also placed on record the detailed inquiry report dated 17.08.2024. Thus, from a bare perusal of the stand taken by the respondents and also with particular reference to the inquiry conducted by the inquiry officer, the order/judgment which is sought to be complied with stands complied with. Thus, no fruitful purpose will be served to keep the present contempt petition alive as the judgment/order passed by this Court stands complied with and this is the precise reason that there is no representation on behalf of the petitioner. Accordingly, the proceedings in the present contempt petition are closed. Rule, if any, shall stand discharged. (Wasim Sadiq Nargal) Judge Jammu 25.03.2025 Abinash 8
