The Court:- This is an application for stay of enforcement of the award dated August 2, 2024, which was corrected on October 10, 2024. The petitioner is willing to secure the sum awarded. Needless to mention, the sum awarded includes principal and interest. Under such circumstances, enforcement of the award shall be stayed unconditionally till 16th June 2025, within which time, the petitioner shall deposit by way of cash deposit a sum of Rs.3.58 crores before the Learned Registrar, Original Side, High Court at Calcutta. Upon such deposit being made, stay of enforcement of the award shall continue till disposal of the application under Section 34 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The cash deposit so made shall be invested in an auto renewable interest 2 bearing fixed deposit in a nationalized bank. The fixed deposit shall be kept renewed from time to time.
