This petition was filed with the following prayer : (i) to issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the Respondents to ensure that a First Information Report is registered on Petitioner's application/complaint (copies of the complaints are enclosed as Annexure Nos. 1, 2, 4 and 5 to 11 to this petition) forthwith and investigation is conducted and concluded within the time to be specified by the Hon'ble Court; (ii) to issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the Respondents to ensure that the social media (such as facebook/Meta) is not allowed to be used Or used by the non-social elements without any lawful authority; (iii) to issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the Respondents to ensure that Social media platforms re regulated strictly in accordance with law and to take immediate steps to block the disputed Facebook-page created in the name of The Azamgarh Muslim Educational Society' forthwith; Learned counsel for the petitioner admits that first information report has already been lodged on 13.05.2025. However, police is not fairly investigating the matter. This petition is disposed of directing the investigating officer to conduct investigation in pursuance of the first information report. While conducting investigation Investing Officer will decide whether the disputed face book page in the name of "Azamgarh Muslim Education Society, Azamgarh", deserves to be blocked or not. If he finds that there is requirement the same it shall be blocked. He will conclude the investigation of the case within ninety days.
