This Court in W.P.No.11541/2025 [GM-POLICE], disposed of on 19.08.2025, has opined that the second respondent's jurisdiction to consider requests for grant of parole was for a certain exigency and otherwise the applications for parole must be considered by the Director General of Prisons and Correctional Services under the Karnataka Prisons and Correctional Services Manual 2021 [for short, 'the Manual 2021']. Upon hearing Mr.Kiran S. S., the learned counsel for the petitioner, and Ms.K.P.Yashodha, the learned Additional Government Advocate who is - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:38645 WP No. 27803 of 2025 called upon to accept notice for the respondents, as also on perusal of records, this Court is of the view that this Court’s intervention must be limited to quashing the second respondent’s Endorsement dated 25.04.2025 with directions to the second respondent to place the petitioner's application and the report received with the Director General of Prisons and Correctional Services for due consideration in terms of the timelines under the Manual 2021.
