GP FOR HOME (AP) The Court made the following: 2 THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE B.V.L.N.CHAKRAVARTHI WRIT PETITION No.10003 OF 2019 ORDER: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the following relief: “….to issue writ or direction more particularly in the nature of Writ of Mandamus under Article 226 of the Constitution of India declaring the action of the 4th respondent in harassing the petitioner by requiring him to attend the police station though petitioner was not involved in any offence and no crime has been registered against him and also preventing him from attending his daily works as illegal arbitrary, unjust, without jurisdiction and violative of Articles 14, 19(1)(g) and 21 of the Constitution of India and consequently direct the 4th respondent not to harass the petitioner by requiring him to attend the 4th respondent police station…” 2. None appeared for the writ petitioner. 3. Learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home on written instructions would submit that the allegations in the affidavit are not true and police never harassed the writ petitioner as alleged in the writ petition and they will due procedure established by law, if they intend to summon the petitioner in connection with any enquiry/investigation of any case registered by the police. 3 4. In the light of the submissions made by the learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home, this Court is of the considered opinion that no further orders are required in the writ petition at this length of time, and the writ petition can be closed at the stage of admission, without going into the merits of the case. 5. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
