PUBLIC PROSECUTOR (AP) 4 The Court made the following: ORDER : The instant petition under Section 482 of the Criminal Procedure code , 1973, has been filed by the petitioners/accused seeking to quash the proceedings against them in F.I.R.No.151 of 2022 dated 03.05.2022 on the file of Disha Women Police Station, Guntur under Section 498(A) IPC and 3 and 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act 2. Heard Sri K.Satya Sai Kumar, learned counsel for the petitioners, and Ms. K. Priyanka Lakshmi, learned Assistant Public Prosecutor. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners and respondent No.2 entered into a compromise in F.C.O.P. No.368 of 2022, which was filed by respondent No.2 seeking maintenance under Section 125 of Cr.P.C., and the F.C.O.P. is dismissed as not pressed. The case in D.V.C. No.31 of 2023 filed by the respondent is also closed. Learned counsel would further submit that this criminal petition is the only case pending between the parties. The accused No.1 and respondent No.2 got divorced, and she also received permanent alimony. Learned counsel would finally pray for quashment of the case against the petitioners. 4. Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, respondent No.2/de facto complainant was present before this Court. Both the learned counsel on record identified respondent No.2 in open Court. Respondent No.2 submitted that she received permanent alimony of Rupees Twenty-Five Lakhs. She has absolutely no objection to quash the case against the petitioners as everything is settled between them. 5 5. Learned Assistant Public Prosecutor would submit that the Court may pass appropriate orders. Learned Assistant Public Prosecutor would further submit that investigation is completed in this matter and they have filed a charge sheet which is pending for consideration before the Court. 6. Considering the submissions made and in view of the settlement arrived at between the parties, this Criminal Petition is allowed, quashing the criminal proceedings in F.I.R. No.151 of 2022 dated 03.05.2022, on the file of Disha Women Police Station, Guntur, against the petitioners.
