ORDER:
The instant petition under Section 528 of BNSS has been filed, by the Petitioner herein, seeking a direction to the learned I Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Visakhapatnam, to dispose of the Crl.M.P.No.3244 of 2023 in C.C.No.997 of 2018 as expeditiously as possible.
2. Heard Sri G.Naga Satyanarayana, learned counsel for the Petitioner and Ms.K.Priyanka Lakshmi, learned Assistant Public Prosecutor for the State.

Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner herein is the sole accused in C.C. No. 997 of 2018 and that he has filed Crl.M.P.No. 3244 of 2023 under Section 239 of the Cr.P.C., seeking his discharge from the case. The said petition is still pending. Learned counsel finally prays for a direction to the Court concerned for early disposal of the said petition.
4. Learned Assistant Public Prosecutor would submit that the Court may pass appropriate orders.
5. Considering the submissions made and since the discharge petition has been pending before the Court since 2023, it is apposite to dispose of the present petition. However, the learned trial Judge is directed to dispose of the said petition as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The learned trial Judge is further directed to report the progress of the matter to the Registrar (Judicial) by 20.01.2026.
6. With the above directions, the Criminal Petition is disposed of.
7. Registry is directed to communicate the order to the concerned Court forthwith. Pending applications, if any, shall stand closed
