THE HONOURABLE DR JUSTICE VENKATA JYOTHIRMAI PRATAPA WRIT PETITION NO: 28627 OF 2025 ORDER:
The present Writ Petition is filed questioning the action of the Respondents in harassing the Petitioner by calling him to the Police Station frequently and resorting to extra judicial settlement of civil dispute as illegal and arbitrary.
2. Heard Mr. V.V.Satish, learned counsel for the Petitioner and Mr. V. Farooq, learned Assistant Government Pleader, Home for the Respondents.
3. Learned counsel for the Petitioner would submit that the Petitioner is shown as Accused in Crime No. 203 of 2025 for the offences punishable under the provisions of IPC and POCSO Act, Dowry Prohibition Act and IT Act. Learned counsel would further submit that investigation is completed and Charge Sheet also filed. Despite the same, the Police are calling the Petitioner to the Police Station and insisted him to enter into settlement in the matter.
4. Learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home would submit that the Police never called the Petitioner to the Police Station and never insisted the Petitioner to enter into settlement in the matter.
5. Recording the submissions made, the Writ Petition is disposed of. However, the Police are directed to follow the due process of law, if they have
to proceed against the Petitioner, in respect of the crime referred supra. There shall be no order as to costs.
