Hon'ble Avnish Saxena,J. 1. Mr. Kabeer Tiwari, learned advocate appears on behalf of petitioner and submits, his client has applied for reissue of her passport. When she was minor, her parents obtained her passport. Then on becoming major, she made application dated 22nd January, 2023 for reissue of the passport. She wanted correction in her date of birth and in residential address, as given in the application. The passport has not been reissued. He seeks direction from Court upon the authority. 2. Mr. Manoj Kumar Singh, learned advocate appears on behalf of respondent no.4. 3. Petitioner has disclosed frequently asked questions (FAQs) regarding correction of date of birth in passport (new guidelines). The guidelines say that when a minor had first passport issued, the person can correct date of birth at any time, when on becoming major first application is made for reissue of the passport. Petitioner has stated in paragraph 7 of the writ petition that present application was made for the first time after becoming major. 4. Respondent no.3 is directed to consider and deal with petitioner's application for reissue of her passport. Petitioner will communicate certified copy of this order and copy of her application to said respondent. Either the passport is to be reissued or reasons for rejection of the application be made known to petitioner within four weeks of the communication. 5. The writ petition is disposed of.
