By way of the present writ petition, the petitioners have sought issuance of an appropriate writ in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider their claim for allotment of residential accommodations as per the Rehabilitation Policy.

At the outset, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that for redressal of their grievance, the petitioners shall approach the competent authority by filing an appropriate representation/application.

-2- respondents-U.T., Chandigarh. Learned counsel for the respondents submits that if, any such representation is filed by the petitioners, the same shall be considered and decided by the competent authority, in accordance with law.

Without commenting on merits of the case, the present petition is disposed of by giving liberty to the petitioners to file an appropriate representation before the competent authority-respondent No.3 (Land Acquisition Collector). In case, any such representation is filed, respondent No.3 shall look into the same and pass an appropriate reasoned order thereon, in accordance with law, preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of filing/receipt of such representation.

disposed of.
