JUSTICE ANU SIVARAMAN) This writ petition is filed seeking a writ of habeas corpus against the respondents to produce the missing person i.e., Sri Balakrishna, before this Court. 2. The contention of the writ petitioner is that his elder brother Balakrishna, who runs a clothing shop in BTM Layout, had left home around 9.30 am on 28.04.2025 and was missing since then. It is submitted that on - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:26031-DB WPHC No. 59 of 2025 30.04.2025, FIR bearing No.90/2025 has been registered at Tilaknagar Police Station, but no effective action has been taken to trace out the petitioner's brother. 3. A detailed status report has been placed on record by the Government Advocate, wherein it is stated that immediately on the FIR being registered, earnest attempts have been taken to trace out the petitioner's brother, who is aged 33 years. 4. It is submitted that all CCTC visuals, Bank records as well as mobile records have been examined and police personnel had been deputed to trace out the missing person. However, there has been no activity in the Bank accounts or from the several mobile numbers used by the missing person. The details of efforts taken by the police to trace out the missing person are provided in the status report. 5. Having considered the contentions advanced and in view of the fact that the police are making attempts - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:26031-DB WPHC No. 59 of 2025 to trace out the missing person, this petition is disposed of. The police shall continue their efforts to trace out the missing person and file final report before the jurisdictional magistrate in accordance with law.
