GP FOR PANCHAYAT RAJ RURAL DEV The Court made the following: 3 THE HON’BLE SRI JUSTICE VENKATESWARLU NIMMAGADDA WRIT PETITION NO: 22618/2020 ORDER: Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel for respondent No.3. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the application of the petitioner for granting water tap connection/installation was rejected by respondent No.3 vide proceedings dated 18.11.2020. He further submits that it is the duty casted upon respondent No. 3/Gram Panchayat, to provide civic amenities to the public, who pay taxes to respondent No. 3/Gram Panchayat. Hence, Writ Petition. 3. Learned Standing Counsel for respondent No.3 submits that pending the Writ Petition, respondent No.3/Gram Panchayat was merged with the Corporation. As such, the claim of the petitioner cannot be addressed by respondent No.3 and the same can be challenged by impleading the Corporation who is competent authority for granting such tap connection, as required by the petitioner. 4. Considering the submissions made by both the learned counsel and on perusal of the material placed on record, this Court deems it appropriate to dispose of the Writ Petition directing the petitioner to make an application before the Corporation concerned for granting water tap connection. After receiving such 4 application/representation for water tap connection, the same should be considered and pass a speaking order and same should be communicated to the petitioner within a period of two(2) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this Order. If the Corporation did not redress the grievance of the petitioner as claimed, the petitioner is at liberty to challenge the same by initiating separate proceedings. 5. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
