Heard learned counsel appearing on behalf of the parties. 2. This is a writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India wherein the writ petitioner is seeking protection from the police authorities for protection of his life in accordance with law. 3. Upon hearing the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the parties, we are of the view that the petitioner should make a fresh application before the District Level Committee seeking security as required in accordance with law. 4. In light of the same, this writ petition is disposed of with liberty granted to the petitioner to file a fresh application seeking protection, before the District Level Committee headed by the District Magistrate, within a period of two weeks from date. In the event, the application as aforesaid is filed, the District Level Committee shall take a decision on the same, within a period of four weeks, thereafter, in accordance with law.
