(ORAL) Prayer in the present petition is for issuance of direction to respondent No.3 to look into the representation dated 26.03.2025 (Annexure P- 4) whereby, the petitioner has sought for protection of life and liberty of his father and his family members at the hands of his wife Sarabjit Kaur. Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner is NRI and is living in Canada, however, his father is a senior citizen, who is living in India. He submits that his father and his family members are being harassed by his wife Sarabjit Kaur and thus, for the redressal of his grievances, he has already filed a representation dated 26.03.2025 (Annexure P-4), but till date, no action has been taken on the same. Notice of motion to the official respondents only. Mr. Tarun Aggarwal, Sr. DAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State. After hearing learned counsel for the parties, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3 i.e. Additional Directer General of Police, NRI Wing, Mohali to decide the representation dated 26.03.2025 (Annexure P-4) filed by the petitioner in accordance with law within a period of one month from today and grant immediate protection, if any threat to the life and liberty of family of the petitioner, is perceived. It is being clarified that this order shall not be taken to grant immunity to the petitioner for legal action for violation of law, if any, committed by him.
