Be that as it may, the petitioner is at liberty to make representation before the respondent/competent authority for
redressal
of
his
grievance
and
the respondent/competent authority is directed to consider and decide the case of the petitioner for promotion to the post of Assistant Sub Inspector (Arms) and Sub Inspector (Arms) from the date his juniors were promoted, on its own merit strictly in accordance with law by passing a reasoned and speaking order within three months from the
