HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:39121 WP No. 29521 of 2025
THIS WRIT PETITION IS COMING ON FOR PRELIMINARY HEARING, THIS DAY, ORDER WAS MADE THEREIN AS UNDER:
CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE R DEVDAS
ORAL ORDER
Learned Additional Government Advocate takes notice for both the respondents.
2. It is the contention of the petitioner that the petitioner was granted 2 Acres 30 Guntas of land in Survey No.23 of Sampanahalli Village, Devalapura Hobli, Nagamangala Taluk, Mandya District, on 13.07.1976 vide
Order bearing No.GDR/73/1976-77. It is contended that a mutation entry was made in favour of the petitioner in the revenue records pursuant to M.R.No.2/1989-90. However, after computerization, the name of the petitioner is not continued in the RTC. In this regard, the petitioner has made a representation to the respondent-Tahsildar, to re- enter the name of the petitioner in the land revenue records. However, no orders have been passed by the respondent-Tahsildar till date and therefore, the petitioner

has approached this Court seeking a direction to the respondent-Tahsildar to enter the name of the petitioner in the computerised land revenue records.
3. After hearing the learned Counsel for the petitioner, the learned Additional Government Advocate and on perusing the petition papers, this Court finds from the material on record that the name of the petitioner was earlier entered in the land revenue records. However, if the Tahsildar is of the opinion that the petitioner has not been granted lands, nevertheless, it is the duty of the Tahsildar to secure the original Grant Register, Saguvali Chit issue register and other contemporaneous records to satisfy himself regarding the grant made in favour of the petitioner. Moreover, there is no reason why the name of the petitioner which was earlier entered in the land revenue records has not been continued after computerization, the Tahsildar is duty bound to look into all these aspects and pass necessary orders.
