4. The learned Special Judge (NDPS Act), Saraipali District- Mahasamund (C.G.) vide its request letter dated 16.09.2025 has requested for grant of further six months time for concluding the trial.
5. It transpires from perusal of the PUD that the case was fixed for securing the presence of the accused persons. (Despite issuance of arrest warrants against the accused and notices to the surety, their presence could not be ensured till date.) After receipt of the order dated 16/06/2025, steps were repeatedly taken to secure the presence of the accused for expeditious disposal of the case. However, the Station House Officer, Police Station Basna, failed to execute the arrest warrant as
directed. Similarly, despite issuance of warrants/notices with covering letters to the surety, no compliance was reported. Consequently, communications were sent to the Superintendent of Police and the Inspector General of Police to ensure execution of the arrest warrants and the appearance of the surety, yet no compliance was achieved. Even after calling for an explanation from the Station House Officer, no satisfactory response was submitted within the prescribed time. Thereafter, despite forwarding detailed communications to the Superintendent of Police, Inspector General of Police, and ultimately to the Director General of Police, Chhattisgarh, seeking progress in securing the presence of the accused, no effective progress has been made. Till date, the presence of the accused persons as well as the surety has not been ensured. Hence,
