This is a bail application U/S.483 of BNSS by the petitioner for grant of bail in connection with Kumbharapada PS Case No.171 of 2023 corresponding to ST Case No.7/82 of 2024 (GR Case No.619 of 2023) pending in the file of learned 2nd Additional Sessions Judge, Puri, for commission of offences punishable U/Ss.341/294/323/324/326/307/354-B/302/506/34 of IPC, on the main allegation of stabbing the deceased Soumya Ranjan Pradhan to death by means of a knife. 3. Heard, Mr. Bikram Chandra Ghadei, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. P. Satpathy, learned Additional Public Prosecutor in the matter and perused the record. 4. After having considered the rival submissions and taking into consideration the nature and gravity of the offences as alleged against the petitioner vis-à-vis the allegation sought to be brought against him and p. 2 regard being had to the main allegation of stabbing the deceased to death by means of a knife being directed against the present petitioner and he having five criminal antecedents as submitted by the learned State Counsel and there being eye witnesses’ account to the occurrence, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. 5. Hence, the bail application of the petitioner stands rejected. Accordingly, the BLAPL stands disposed of.
