NO. 373 OF 2025 2 JUDGMENT Devan Ramachandran , J. The petitioner alleges that his 18-year-old daughter is illegally detained by the fourth respondent, with the assistance of his parents. 2. Noticing the assertions in this writ petition, we had issued notice to the fourth respondent through special messenger; and in response to the same, he and his parents were present before us today, as also the petitioner, his wife and the alleged detenue. 3. We interacted with the alleged detenue, who told us that she intends to marry the fourth respondent and that she does not want to return to her parents. 4. Rather taken up by the strong attitude adopted by the alleged detenue, we permitted the petitioner and his wife - namely her parents, to interact with her for some time within the confines of the Court premises. However, even after such, the alleged detenue stuck to our position that she does not want to go with her parents. 2025:KER:26255 WP(CRL.) NO. 373 OF 2025 3 5. The parents of the fourth respondent, however, conceded before us that their son is not 21 years old yet; and added that the alleged detenue is insisting that she wants to stay with them. They undertook before us that they will take full responsibility for the alleged detenue and that it is their intent to finally have them married. 6.
