THE HON’BLE SRI JUSTICE HARINATH.N WRIT PETITION No.33674 OF 2025 ORDER:
1. The petitioner is aggrieved by the proposed action of the respondents in trying to take over the petitioner’s land for widening of the roads.
2. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the respondents are required to initiate and complete acquisition proceedings in accordance with law before taking possession of the petitioner’s property. However, instead of following the prescribed procedure, the respondents have been sending their men and holding out threats of eviction to the petitioner from the property.
3. The learned standing counsel for the respondent Nos.3 and 4, on oral instructions, submits that there is no interference from the respondents with the petitioner’s property and further submits that, in the event the petitioner’s property is required for any public purpose, including road widening, the respondents shall strictly follow the due process of law.
4. Recording the submission of the learned standing counsel the writ petition is closed. No costs.
