1. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that he is in no way connected with the alleged cyber extortion. It is further submitted petitioner has been falsely implicated in the FIR. He has cooperated with investigation. Accordingly, he prays for anticipatory bail.
2. Learned Advocate for the State opposes the prayer for anticipatory bail.
3. We have considered the materials on record. Allegations in the FIR depict a case of cyber extortion. De-facto complainant is a government employee. He received a number of phone calls alleging his objectionable videos will be circulated if he did not make payment. As a result he was compelled to pay money. Petitioner is one of the accused who had made the phone call demanding money. Custodial
2 interrogation for progress of investigation is necessary. Hence, we are not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
4. Accordingly, the prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner stands rejected.
