ORDER:
This Criminal Petition, under Sections 480 and 483 of the BNSS, has been filed by the petitioner herein/A6, seeking regular bail, in Crime No.39 of 2023 on the file of Mardumilli P.S., registered for the offences punishable under Sections 8(c) read with 20(b)(ii)(C) of the NDPS, Act.

Brief facts of the case are that, on 11.08.2023 at about 12.00 noon, on receipt of credible information, Sub Inspector of Police along with his staff and mediators conducted raid at outskirts of Maredumilli Village, Maredumilli Mandal, noticed while they were in possession and transportation of 120 Kgs of Ganja from interior forest area from Kongapakalu to Gokavaram with support of A4 to A6 in four white plastic gunny bags and the same was seized under the cover of mediators report. Consequently, a case has been registered against the accused.
3. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Assistant Public Prosecutor representing the respondent/State. Perused the material on record.
4. The quantity of contraband involved in present crime is 120 Kgs of Ganja, which is a commercial quantity. Learned Assistant Public Prosecutor submits that the investigation is not yet completed. Statutory period is also not over. In view of the aforesaid facts and circumstances of the case, petitioner does not deserve for grant of bail at this stage.

5. Accordingly, the Criminal Petition is dismissed.
As a sequel thereto, the miscellaneous applications, if any, pending in this Criminal Petition shall stand closed.
