The Court made the following ORDER:
When the matter is taken up for hearing, there is no representation for the petitioner. Learned Standing Counsel for the respondents submits that the order challenged in the writ petition is passed by the concerned authority under Sections 14B & 7Q of the Employees Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act,1952 (the Act), which is an appealable order before the Appellate Authority under Section 7-I of the Act.
Considering the submissions made by the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents, the present Writ Petition is disposed of directing the petitioner to prefer an appeal as contemplated under Section 7-I of the Act, before the Appellate Authority within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, by depositing by depositing 25% of the amount demanded on 21.04.2016, under Section 14B of the Act. On such submission of appeal by paying 25% of the demanded amount by the petitioner, the Appellate Authority shall receive and dispose of the same as early as possible.
