It is the case of the petitioners that a suit has been filed for evicting them from a land which, according to the respondents, belong to the Gram Sabha. It is the case of the petitioners that the petitioners are ready to handover the possession of the land. They seek time and for that purpose they have filed representation before the District Magistrate, Haridwar. The petitioners seek directions that the District Magistrate, Haridwar may be directed to dispose of the representation and the petitioners may be granted eight months’ time to vacate the land. Learned State counsel would submit that the representation given by the petitioners to the District Magistrate, Haridwar, which is Annexure No.2 to the writ petition, may be decided within a period of four weeks. The Court takes on record the statement given by the learned State counsel. The petition stands disposed of with the direction to the District Magistrate, Haridwar to decide the representation of the petitioners (Annexure No.2 to the writ petition) within a period of four weeks.
