GUNESHWAR SHARMA ORDER 17.06.2025 [1] Present Mr. S. Worthing, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. H. Devendra, learned Dy. AG assisted by Mr. A. Bheigya Meitei, learned jr. Govt. counsel for the State respondent. [2] By the present petition, the petitioner approached this Court for quashing the impugned notification dated 21.03.1989 issued by the Commissioner (Forest), Govt. of Manipur whereby, notifying boundary of the Yangoupokpi Lokchao Wildlife sanctuary on the ground that the village of the petitioner i.e. Lamlong Khunou (Chaktong & Waksu) has only been included within the boundary of the wildlife sanctuary. [3] The learned counsel for the State respondent filed counter affidavit by enclosing Annexure-R/3, which is a letter dated 04.12.2018 issued by Assistant Conservator of Forest (Wildlife) cum APIO, Govt. of Manipur in respect of an RTI application. [4] In the said letter, it is stated that Lamlong Khunou Village at Tengnoupal district (the village of the petitioner herein) is not included in the boundary of the wildlife sanctuary but it falls under the notified Eco-Sensitive Zone of the wildlife sanctuary. [5] It is submitted at the bar that in terms of the reply dated 04.12.2018, the writ petition may be closed since, the village of the petitioner is not within actual boundary of the wildlife sanctuary. [6] Accordingly, the present W.P. (C) No. 157 of 2019 is closed as infructuous and disposed of.
