The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondent to issue ‘No Objection Certificate’ under the Adoption Rules. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that respondent No. 4-Central Adoption Resource Authority (for short “CARA”) has withheld ‘No Objection Certificate’ which is required in relation to adoption of a minor child to be relocated. The petitioner is citizen of the United States of America and at present is residing in India for the purpose of taking care of minor child. The matter was forwarded to CARA in May’ 2025 which is not adjudicating the matter. 3. Learned State counsel submis that child in question was adopted under the Hindu Adoptions and Maintenance Act, 1956. SARA has already done verification and submitted documents to CARA. 4. Learned counsel for CARA submits that the competent authority would address petitioner’s application within two weeks from today. 5. Counsel for the petitioner agrees to the aforesaid arrangement. 6.
