The instant petition has been filed praying for a writ of mandamus commanding respondent no. 5 to consider and decide the representation of the petitioners dated 20.2.2025 for returning the acquired land to them and to mutate their names in the revenue records. The prayer has been made on basis of judgment of Supreme Court dated 23.8.2011 in Writ Petition (Civil) No. 66 of 2007, connected with Writ Petition (Civil) No. 67 of 2007. The submission is that by the aforesaid judgment, the Supreme Court has quashed the land acquisition proceedings and has directed the respondents to return the land to the land owners upon refund of the compensation amount. 2. The case of the petitioners is that they have individually refunded the compensation amount of Rs. 26,87,400/- each and therefore the land should be returned and their names should be mutated in the revenue records. 3. Sri Santosh Kumar Singh, learned counsel appearing for respondent no. 5, very fairly states that the representation filed by the petitioners in this regard will be decided. 4. Accordingly, the petition is disposed of with direction to respondent no. 5 to decide the petitioner's representation dated 20.2.2025 within six weeks from the date of communication of the instant order along with photocopy of the representation.
