Mr. Kumar Jyoti Tewari, learned senior advocate for the Union of India submits that the
2 State, in its report, has disclosed that there are 27 registered homestays within the Buxa Tiger Reserve Area but the website maintained by the Department of Tourism, Government of West Bengal is displaying the names of 74 homestays in the said area, which suggests that the State has not disclosed the correct figure of unauthorized homestays operating in the Buxa Tiger Reserve Area. Matter will be taken up for further
consideration on August 22, 2025 at 2.00 p.m., list it accordingly. It is made clear that pendency of the writ petition shall not be a bar to execute the impugned
judgment and order dated May 13, 2022 passed by the National Green Tribunal in O.A No. 136 of 2017 and in the connected application being M.A. 191 of
2017. Parties to act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties, subject to compliance of all requisite formalities.
