The instant petition has been filed praying for a writ of mandamus commanding respondent no. 5 to consider and decide the petitioner's representation dated 17.4.2025 (wrongly mentioned as 20.1.2025 in the prayer clause) for returning the acquired land to the petitioner and to mutate his name in the revenue records. The prayer has been made on basis of judgment of Supreme Court dated 23.8.2011 in Writ Petition (Civil) No. 66 of 2007, connected with Writ Petition (Civil) No. 67 of 2007. The submission is that by the aforesaid judgment, the Supreme Court has quashed the land acquisition proceedings and has directed the respondents to return the land to the land owners upon refund of the compensation amount. 2. The case of the petitioner is that he has refunded the entire compensation amount received by him, i.e. Rs. 69,33,600/- and therefore the land should be returned and his name should be mutated in the revenue records. 3. Sri Santosh Kumar Singh, learned counsel appearing for respondent no. 5, very fairly states that the representation filed by the petitioner in this regard will be decided. 4. Accordingly, the petition is disposed of with direction to respondent no. 5 to decide the petitioner's representation dated 17.4.2025 within six weeks from the date of communication of the instant order along with photocopy of the representation.
