Heard Mr. S. Islam, learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard Mr. R. J. Baruah, learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the State respondent. It has been submitted by Mr. Baruah, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, that the report has already been received from the Barpeta Police Station. The concerned Officer-in-Charge has stated that no case has been registered against the present petitioner in connection with this case. In this regard, Mr. Islam, the learned counsel for the petitioner, has submitted that the police visited the petitioner’s residence on 21.12.2024 in search of him. However, as he was not present, he could not be apprehended. The petitioner has expressed an apprehension of being arrested in connection with a child marriage case. Considering the submissions made by the learned counsels for both parties, as well as the report submitted by the concerned Officer-in-Charge stating that no case has been registered against the petitioner, I do not find any valid apprehension of arrest. Consequently, this anticipatory bail application is disposed of, as it has become infructuous. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
