In view of the order that this Court proposes to pass and also the limited relief that is sought to be granted, notice to the 2nd Respondent is dispensed with. 2. The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of Mandamus to direct the 1st respondent to make a reference under Section 18(2)(a) of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (hereinafter referred to as “the Act”) in respect of the application submitted on 26.3.2012 during Award Enquiry in respect of the petitioner's land measuring 0.55.0 hectres in S.No 91/18A2, 91/18B, 91/19B2, 91/19C, 91/19D and 93/3A C.N. Pattadai Elayanallur village, Katapdi Taluk, Vellore district. 3. At the outset, it was submitted by Mr.Selvendran, learned Special Government Pleader for 1st respondent that the application made by petitioner under Section 18(2)(a) of the Act, would be considered and appropriate orders 2/4 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P. No.14997 of 2025 would be passed within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, which was readily accepted by the learned counsel for petitioner. 4. In view thereof, the writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to respondents to consider the representation made by petitioner under Section 18(2)(a) of the Act and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after issuing a notice to the 2nd respondent and any other interested party. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the representation, the concerned respondent shall consider the representation on its own merits and in accordance with law.
