This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India with the following prayer for:
“.... a Writ of Mandamus declaring the action of the 5th respondent police in harassing the petitioner by requiring him to attend the police station every day though petitioner is not involved in any offence and thereby preventing him from attending to his daily works and forcing to settle the matter involved in FIR No.280 of 2021 dated 05.09.2021 on the file of

Singanamala Police Station, Singanamala, Anantapur District, without following any procedure known to law as illegal, arbitrary and without jurisdiction.”

When the matter is taken up for hearing, Sri V.Farooq, learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home, on written instructions would submit that, based on the complaint lodged by one M.Thikkappa, a case in Crime No.301 of 2021 for the offences under Sections 355 and 506 read with 34 IPC has been registered against the Petitioner herein and his son and in that connection, the Police called the Petitioner for enquiry. 3. Sri P.Narahari Babu, learned counsel for the Petitioner would submit that, let there be a direction to the Police to follow due process of law. 4. Considering the submissions, the Writ Petition is disposed of. However, Police are directed to follow due process of law in connection with the case registered against the Petitioner. There shall be no order as to costs. As a sequel thereto, miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending shall stand closed.
