The present writ petition is filed respondents in issuing the impugned Notifications in respect of the subject matter lands for the purpose of distribution of house displaced families of Polavaram Project as illegal, arbitrary, etc., and for consequential orders.

detail. A reading of the counter affidavit of respondent No.3 makes it clear that though the impugned notifications were issued in the years 2017 and 2018, no award is passed in respect of the subject matter properties (see paragraph No.9). Further in paragraph No.10 of the counter affidavit, it is specifically asserted that only after payment of compensation to the petitioners, possession of their lands will be taken by the Government for the proposed housing colony.
3. In the latest instructions dated 24.11.2025 furnished by the Special Deputy Collector (L.A), PIPRMC, Unit–II, Eluru vide Roc.No.T9/230/2017 (SDT), it is reported that only after the compensation amount is paid to the petitioners, the possession of the lands will be taken by the Government.
4. In view of the above stated position, while not examining the issue with regard to lapse of notification, the writ petition is disposed of, providing that the State and the concerned Authorities shall not interfere with the subject matter lands or dispossess the petitioners without following due procedure as contemplated under law. No order as to costs. Miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed.
