DATED : 11.07.2025 Applicant has moved this application under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, for seeking further extension of the time limit for the disposal of the arbitration proceeding pending before the learned Arbitrator, for which, learned Counsel for the respondent has given no objection. 2. On perusal of he record, it appears that vide order dated 08/09/2022, Shri. Justice A.B. Chaudhari (Former Judge) has been appointed as an Arbitrator for the adjudication of the dispute between the parties. The applicant filed its claim before the Arbitrator on 30/12/2022, and the respondent filed their statement of defence on 04/05/2023. The twelve-month period as per Section 29A (1) of the Act 2 28cao 742-2025.odt expired on 03/05/2024. Then, by joint pursis, the said period was extended for six months, i.e., from 04/05/2024 to 03/11/2024. 3. The learned Counsel for the applicant submitted that both parties have concluded their evidence, and now the matter is posted for final argument. The learned Counsel for the respondent does not dispute the said position. However, it is submitted that on the part of both parties, the delay has occurred. 4. Having considered the said facts in the interest of justice, I deem it appropriate to extend the period of the arbitration proceeding from 04/11/2024 till 03/11/2025. 5. It is made clear that no further extension will be granted as sufficient time has been given to the parties. 6. Parties are directed to appear before the Arbitrator on 21/07/2025 and may conclude their arguments within four weeks thereafter. 7. The application is disposed of in terms of the above.
