HIGH COURT OF JAMMU & KASHMIR AND LADAKH HIGH COURT OF JAMMU & KASHMIR AND LADAKH AT JAMMU Case:- SWP No. 1448/2012 IA No. 2208/2012 Lajwanti Devi …..Appellant(s)/Petitioner(s) Through: None. Vs State of J&K and Ors. .…. Respondent(s) Through: Coram: HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE WASIM SADIQ NARGAL, JUDGE ORDER (03.03.2025) 01. Record reveals that in the instant petition, notice was issued way back on 14.06.2012 and the instant petition has come up before this Court after twelve years. However, there is no representation on behalf of the petitioner today. 02. Even otherwise also, as per the stand of the respondents, the selection of private respondent No. 5 as Anganwadi Worker in Anganwadi Centre, Mashal, Ward No. 8, Pachayat Bijarni has been done purely on the basis of merit being a resident and in strict compliance to Government Order No. 07-SW of 2010 dated 18.01.2010, which is evident from a bare perusal of the merit panel, residence certificate of the private respondent and also in light of the aforesaid Government Order, which has been placed on record while filing the reply. 03. As per the stand of the respondents, the petitioner was found to be non-local resident of Hamlet Mashel, but of a different Hamlet, i.e., Dogar S. No. 40 HIGH COURT OF JAMMU & KASHMIR AND LADAKH and, thus, has no right to seek his engagement for the same. 04. Thus, in light of the stand taken by the respondents, the writ petition is devoid of any merit and is liable to be dismissed and the same is, accordingly, dismissed along with all connected applications.
