This writ petition is filed aggrieved by the action of the respondents for non-payment of the bills for the works undertaken by the petitioner. 2. Heard the submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned Government Pleader for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, the learned Assistant Government Pleader for Finance and Planning, and the learned Standing Counsel for the respondent-Corporation. 3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has executed the works, viz., (i) supply and delivery of lime and bleaching powder and Lizol for maintenance in various places in Venkatagiri Municipality, vide agreement No.17/24-25, dt.02.09.2024; (ii) supply and delivery of printer and stationary items for office purpose in Venkatagiri Municipality, vide agreement No.29/24-25, dt.01.02.2025; (iii) supply and delivery of electrical spare parts in 1 to 25 wards of Venkatagiri Municipality, vide agreement No.31/2024-25, dt.01.02.2025; (iv) rewinding of 5HP, 3HP and 2HP motors and maintenance of pump sets and arresting GRP and other pipe leaks to avoid interruption in drinking water -3- W.P. No.28282 OF 2025 Date of order: 15.10.2025 supply in Venkatagiri Municipality, vide agreement No.03/2024-25, dt.08.01.2025, as entrusted by the 3rd respondent. 4. The learned counsel further submits that the petitioner duly executed the works to the satisfaction of the 3rd respondent. It is further submitted that after execution of the works, the competent authority recorded the progress of the work in M Books and thereafter the petitioner has submitted respective final bills aggregating to a sum of Rs.17,34,184/- and the same was approved by the 3rd respondent, but so far no payment has been made to the petitioner. 5. In reply, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the 3rd respondent submits that there is no dispute with respect to the completion of the works undertaken by the petitioner and the payment would be made shortly. 6. Considering the submissions, respondents 3 and 4 are hereby directed to verify and release the payments due payable to the petitioner as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six (06) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 7. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. 8. Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed. ___________________ JUSTICE HARINATH.N BV
