In the present appeal, the challenge is to the order passed by the learned Single Judge dated 04.09.2025 whereby the writ petition filed by the appellant seeking quashing of award dated 12.03.2025 (Annexure P-1) passed by the Permanent Lok Adalat (Public Utility Services), Sangrur, was dismissed.

Learned counsel for the parties have amicably settled the dispute on the terms that the respondent will apply for the grant of tubewell connection afresh by meeting all the requisite terms and conditions and any such application made by the respondent will be considered in accordance with law and the same will be decided within a period of three months of the receipt of the same by passing appropriate speaking order. In case the entitlement of the respondent for the grant of tubewell connection is approved, the same will be allotted to him without any further delay and in case, the respondent is not entitled for the benefit, the due reason will be mentioned in the speaking order which will be conveyed to the respondent by the petitioner at the address given in the fresh application.

3. Keeping in the above, the order passed by the Lok Adalat as well as by the learned Single Judge stands modified accordingly to mean that the respondent will only be entitled to file a fresh application on the terms and conditions mentioned above.
4. The appeal stands disposed of accordingly.
5. All pending miscellaneous application(s), if any, shall also stand
disposed of.
