JUSTICE SURAJ GOVINDARAJ) 1. The Petitioner is before this Court seeking for the following reliefs: a. Issue a writ in the nature of Certiorari or any other writ or direction and quash the order/endorsement issued by the R3 rejecting the admission of the petitioner to the 1st year LL.B of 3 year course, vide letter bearing no. APNRLC/ADM/01/2024-25/ dated 07.01.2025, vide Annexure-A and allow the writ petition and/or b. Issue a writ of mandamus directing respondent No.2 to approve the admission of the petitioner in 3 years LL.B., course in the 3rd Respondent college. c. Issue a writ of mandamus directing respondent Nos. 2 & 3 to permit the petitioner to appear in 1st semester examination of the 3 years LL.B., Course for the academic year 2024-25 in the interest of justice and equity. d. Pass such other order or orders as this Hon’ble Court deems fit in the facts and circumstances of the case. 2. Similar matter has been decided by this Court on 05.08.2025 in W.P.No.103653/2025 (Shri.Shamasundar vs. The State of Karnataka and another). The reasoning of this Court would be - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC-D:10482 WP No. 100306 of 2025 equally applicable to the present matter. Hence, the following: ORDER i) The Writ Petition is allowed. ii) A certiorari is issued, endorsement dated 07.01.2025 at Annexure-A issued by Respondent No.3 is quashed. iii) A mandamus is issued directing Respondent No.2 to issue eligibility certificate to the Petitioner on the basis of the B.A. degree completed by the Petitioner, for the purpose of admission into 3 years Law Course, within one week from today. iv) A certificate shall be issued by the end of day 23.08.2025 so as to enable the Petitioner to apply to a college of his choice. In the event of last date for payment of the admission fee having lapsed, the same is extended for a period of one week thereafter to enable the - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC-D:10482 WP No. 100306 of 2025 Petitioner to make payment of the respective fee. v) The counsel for Respondent No.2 – University is directed to communicate the operative portion of the order of this Court to Respondent No.2, who shall act on the same without waiting for a certified copy of the order.
