In terms of the said endorsement, the Commissioner Hubballi-Dharwad City Municipal Corporation has refused to change the name of the petitioner's daughter as Gouri Vijay Kalsurmath by correcting the wrong name which is recorded in the birth certificate as Smita Vijay Kalsurmath. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that there is no other provision of law which prescribes the procedure for change of entries in the birth certificate. 3. Learned counsel would also submit that in all the school records the petitioner's daughter's name is mentioned as Gouri Vijay Kalsurmath and not as Smita Vijay Kalsurmath, which is wrongly recorded in the birth certificate. - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC-D:13858 WP No. 106166 of 2025 4. Learned counsel would also refer to the judgment of the Co-ordinate Bench of this Court in W.P.No.6370/2024. In terms of order dated 06.02.2025, the Co-ordinate Bench of this Court has laid down certain guidelines for making corrections in the birth certificate. 5. Learned counsel for the respondent does not dispute the aforementioned judgment. 6. This Court has referred to the directions issued in paragraph Nos.24 to 29. 7. Since it appears that the petitioner's daughter's name is Gouri and not Smita as recorded in the birth certificate, the petitioner shall approach the respondent and comply the requirements as specified in the aforementioned paragraphs No.24 to 29 of the order in W.P.No.6370/2024. 8. On being satisfied with the said compliance, the respondent shall correct the name of the petitioner's - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC-D:13858 WP No. 106166 of 2025 daughter as Gouri Vijay Kalsurmath and shall issue a fresh birth certificate. 9.
