2. Petitioner has been made accused in connection with S.T. Case No. 294 of 2024 arising out of Latehar P.S. Case No. 124 of 2024 for the offences registered under section 103 (1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, pending in the court of learned Additional Sessions Judge-II, Latehar.
3. Petitioner happens to be the husband of the deceased Kaushalya Devi who died due to burn injury sustained in her matrimonial home.
4. Mr. A.K. Chaturvedy, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner, submitted that the witnesses have stated that the deceased had told them that she had immolated herself.
5. From perusal of the case diary, it appears that several witnesses have stated that the petitioner used to assault and torture the deceased, due to which she committed suicide.
6. Considering the nature of allegation, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail. Accordingly, his prayer for bail stands rejected, at this stage.
