The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is arraigned as accused in C.C.No.862 of 2023 on the file of the 1st Additional Junior Civil Judge-cum-1st Additional Junior Magistrate of First Class, Tanuku, for the alleged offences under Sections 420, 509, and 506 of IPC.
2. It is submitted that the 2nd respondent, who is the wife of the petitioner’s brother, alleged that the petitioner has collected money from her for providing a job to her son. It is also submitted that the petitioner could arrange a job for

the 2nd respondent’s son under a contractor. However, a false complaint was filed alleging the payment of an amount of Rs.5,00,000/-, and that when the 2nd respondent demanded return of the money, the petitioner is said to have threatened her. On the strength of the said complaint, the police have completed the investigation and filed a charge sheet. It is also submitted that the petitioner is working as a Grade-I Village Secretary and that there is no allegation affecting the virtuous character of the petitioner.

It is submitted that the petitioner is only seeking for dispense with the presence during the trial and further submits that the petitioner shall appear as and when required as directed by the learned Magistrate in C.C.No.862 of 2023 on the file of the 1st Additional Junior Civil Judge-Cum-1st Additional Junior Magistrate of 1st Class, Tanuku.
4. Notice sent to the 2nd respondent has been served, but there is no representation on behalf of the 2nd respondent.
5. Considering the submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner, the presence of the petitioner is dispensed with except for the dates he is required for the purpose of trial and as directed by the learned Magistrate.
6. Accordingly, this Criminal Petition is disposed off with the above direction.

As a sequel, miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed.
